"Memorial" by Bryan Washington has won the second battle of the opening round of the Tournament of Books. "A Children's Bible" by Lydia Millet was the losing book. Unfortunately I never got to read Memorial in time but I did read Millet's book and did enjoy it.

The judge for this round was Alexandra Schwartz.
