THE 2019 BOOKER LONGLIST.

Well the longlist is out and I think that it's a strong list. I simply cannot wait to read Atwood and Rushdie. There are two books that I have already read and reviewed on this site. I must admit that while enjoying both books I didn't think that either had a shot at making the list. My Sister, the Serial Killer is a wonderful book. Short and fast paced, it's a thoroughly entertaining read, and surprisingly much deeper than you initially think. I also enjoyed Lost Children Archive, which was longlisted for the Women's prize for Fiction. Reviews were a little lukewarm, but I thought that it was well written with a great narrative. I think I gave it four stars. Both of these books can be found in the reviews section of the blog. I think the book that I am most looking forward to reading is The Testaments by Margaret Atwood. Atwood is one of my all time favourite authors and this is the sequel to The Handmaid's Tale. This sequel is set fifteen years in the future and if I had to make a guess right now as to a winner, this would be my pick. A complete list of the longlist can be found at the main menu.
