The November issue of goodREADING is out and it is packed to the brim with interesting articles and interviews.
The cover story is about Christian White's latest novel "Wild Place". White says, although it is set in the eighties, the novel was inspired by the myriad of conspiracy theories and misinformation that seemed to evolve with the Covid virus.
There are six feature writers contributing to the November Issue.
The book club pick of the month is "The Book of Magic" by Alice Hoffman. Editor Rowena Morcom writes a wonderful article on the importance of sweat, while sharing facts she learned after reading "The Joy of Sweat -The Strange Science of Perspiration" by Sarah Everts.
And as usual there are the reviews of all the latest books. This issue has reviews of "Devotion" by Hannah Kent, "The Last Woman in the World" by Inga Simpson. There is Kathy Reichs new book "The Bone Code", and one of my personal favourites "Harlem Shuffle" by Colson Whitehead.
With the non-fiction books I had the pleasure of reviewing "Last Shot" by Jock Zonfrillo. I was more than pleasantly surprised when I found I could not put it down and it had me wanting to read more autobiographies of these "Rock Star" Chefs.
There are five copies each of three books in this months competitions to win.
"Girt Nation" by David Hunt
"The Book of Magic" by Alice Hoffman
"Cold Coast" by Robyn Mundy
