This year's ABIA Literary prize shortlist is a strong one. I have read two of the books and enjoyed both immensely. Nat, from Buddy reads with Nat, gave "Honeybee" by Craig Silvey, a glowing five star review and I will leave a link to it down below.
The sentimental favourite for me is the Trent Dalton. I simply adore his writing and I would love to see him win. "A Lonely Girl is a Dangerous Thing" surprised me by making the shortlist. I enjoyed it but thought the profanity and graphic sex may prove its undoing, but it is a great book, with a brilliant main protagonist.
I also enjoyed Sofie Laguna's "Infinite Splendours" which made the longlist.
